I am buying a men’s jewelry box as a gift, and I would really like to personalize the glass top. I know that etching paints exist, but I am wondering if it will be possible for me to use them, as I don’t know if I will be able to remove the glass from the box (and therefore won’t be able to use running water to clean the paint off). I don’t imagine wiping would be a good idea. Is this something I can do on my own? Should I just take it to professionals somewhere?

It seems that you cannot please people when it comes to Christmas. I work in a small retail store that sells fine jewelry and gifts as well as accessories. Lately we have been getting Christmas returns. The store policy is exchanges only. It just seems that people cannot be pleased with the gifts they receive. I could understand if they got clothes that didn’t fit but be happy with your gift. If I get something I don’t like I politely smile and say thank you. I would never think of saying “It’s not me, can I have the receipt”. Some people really go out of their way to try make people happy and can’t. I am not a religious person but Christmas has just turned ito this commercial fiasco where people run around trying to please people with expensive gifts that they end up hating anyway.
