I am buying a men’s jewelry box as a gift, and I would really like to personalize the glass top. I know that etching paints exist, but I am wondering if it will be possible for me to use them, as I don’t know if I will be able to remove the glass from the box (and therefore won’t be able to use running water to clean the paint off). I don’t imagine wiping would be a good idea. Is this something I can do on my own? Should I just take it to professionals somewhere?
I would ask for help at your local craft store. They should be able to show you how to do it, and what to use. Be sure you tape off what you don’t want to get etching medium on. I would use painters blue tape.
